#Photolayout of #Covermodels ready for #debut @Spacecitycon

The books are here and they look awesome!  How awesome?  Let me show you with a quick photo shoot.

If we could just get the models to come out on the cat walk so we can get a good initial look at them.

cover line upYou see they are all wearing their full colors tonight with Aster in a nice maroon, Roe in a melancholy blue and SoGlog brings up the end of the line with well matched deep ocean blue topped with electric blue.

Roe and FurOur first lady across the cat walk is Roe.  Notice the fur she is wearing?  That is home grown, she grows it herself and wears it with pride.  Her back drop is the farm in which she was brought up in as a slave and forefront in the picture is the water pump where she is forced to draw water for the house every day for her master.  Isn’t she just lovely?

Aster and AppleNext up we have Aster crossing the stage.  She stands out in a crowd even while looking just like her mother and all of her sisters.  She is holding a beautiful perfect flower in one hand while accepting an apple from her forbidden beau Douglas.  Her background is the church where she has lived since about fifteen years old.  Where did she live before that?  She has no idea!

SoGlog and ShellOur last and only male cover model is SoGlog.  His name is actually Glog.  He wears the So to allow everyone to know where he is from.  His outfits are always made best for swimming as he spends about the same amount of time below the surface as above.  He carries a conch snail in his right hand as a gift for his beloved.  Behind him the Mistress Belcher, his steam flat rides the surf while WeFair Earlborn Y Rua awaits his return at the rail of the ship.  You catch that shark swimming under the boat?  Don’t worry if you didn’t, SoGlog will.

Let’s bring them all out once again for a good final look.

Books lined upHere they are all lined up looking as pretty as they could on your shelf at home.  Everyone give them a hand and be sure to ask to see them at Space City Con where these cover models will be making their public debut.

Things to do at @Spacecitycon besides ask me about After World – See Pink @PinkFiveReturns

OMG P!NK will be there?  i just love Alecia!  All her friends call her Alecia, that’s her real name you know…

Oh, not her?

What Pink?

Pink Five.

When Luke was there, so was Stacy.  She followed along on all the adventures, but her story like never got told, ya know?

At Space City Con is your chance to see Pink 5, the Star Wars fan film that won the George Lucas Selects Award and set the standard for all fan films that followed.  Amazingly the character Stacy became so popular that she was canonized in the Star Wars novel Allegiance and is now an official part of the Star Wars universe.  That’s right, a fan created character actually became part of the universe it was created for.  Keep writing those fan fics, your character might be next.

See the films and meet Trey Stokes the creator and director of Pink 5.

Be sure to check out the Space City Con site!

What to do at @SpaceCityCon besides fawn over me – Meet interesting people

It’s all about me, I know, but there will be other things at the convention besides me.  So in between begging me for a free bookmark, or getting me to do custom autographs in your copy of Roe, there are quite a few interesting people you can meet.

First and foremost I am excited to say that Jewel Staite will be there.  She is only the most cutest woman in SciFi history of ever.

Now the way I heard it (When I told myself) is that she just loves my books and wants people to buy them for her and drop them off at her table.  But seriously, she is awesome and she is going to be there.  Please stop by and visit her and say Hi and send along my undying adoration.

What about a magical Doctor?  You could meet Sylvester McCoy.  He played the Seventh Doctor and also recently did a wonderful job portraying the Wizard Radaghast the Brown in The Hobbit.  As you can see in the photo below, both Sylvester and Ian McKellen are getting together discussing how to get beards as awesome as mine.  (Okay listen, I have a delicate ego, don’t go crushing it by telling me the truth about my beard, ‘kay?)

And the line up continues.  I could go all day on TV and Movie stars that are going to be there, but I will point out one more.  Robert Picardo will be there.  His portrayal of Kenneth, Joe, Lord Schweitzer, and Schmullus was second to none.  But he is usually known on the show as the EMH program: Emergency Medical Hologram. He will be the Master of Ceremonies at Space City Con.

Lucky man

You can also meet other people such as Artists or Authors.  A couple of my favorite Artists are going to be there:  Jessica Grundy and Vo Nguyen.  There will be many more.  They will have their art on sale for immediate purchase and many will take commissions on the spot!  You do not know how cool it is to have art made for you until you have your commission in your hands.  You want a Snoopy on top of a Tardis as if it is his house?  You want a mash up of Power Rangers and Rescue Rangers?  Your sick for that, but yes, I am sure someone there will do it for you.  How about a detailed, delivered in a brown paper bag Wonder Woman using her Lasso on Batman?  Again, see the statement above about being sick and be sure to bring it by my table so I can see it too..

On the author side of things let’s start out with Tracy and Laura Hickman.  If you are not familiar with them, then I guess they did not have a library under the rock you have been living under all you life.  To say you have lived a sheltered life is to…. no, I won’t go there.  We are talking about the authors, not deprived upbringings.  Seriously though, they are some awesome authors that I have spent probably literally MONTHS reading (I am using the term literally correctly here) and re-reading.  They created The Kender and if you do not know them, refer to previous rock statement.  They also have a board game out and you can subscribe to their site and get to read their current work in progress as it happens.  That is pretty darned neat.  And what makes them even better is that they are willing to share their knowledge!  That’s right, they will teach you how to write books.  Stop by and see them and thank them for The Kender.

There is also this great up and coming author, Eric Johnson who has written three books of life stories and different people in a universe call After World.  It is… oh, wait that is me.  Sorry for the shameless self promotion, I don’t know what came over me.

You can check out lots of other authors though while you are there, many of us have tables in the dealer’s room where you can talk to us directly and ask questions.

What to do at @SpaceCityCon besides see me – Play Games

So now I am a big time author with three books to his name and sales in the triple digits!  I keep getting fan mail from all the ladies that just cannot wait to meet me at the convention and run their fingers through my awesome beard!  Sorry ladies, I am very happily married and besides I made up the part about the fan mail.  So what else will there be to do at Space City Con besides help me with beard hair tangles (and buying my book)? You can play games!

What kind of games?  I just do not have enough space here, I would run out of server bandwidth listing them all, but here is a good bit of it:

D&D (Duh!), Warmachine, Hordes, WarHammer 40K, Tephra, Dark Nova, New Gods of Man Kind, Mech Corps, Pathfinder Society, Malifaux, Cavemaster, Artimesa Starship Bridge Simulator, Living Forgotten Realms, and Mana Punk.

Mech Corps I would have to say is pretty darned awesome.  You sit inside a simulator and actually pilot a mech against other live players.  It is exciting and cool, and they have some of the best Cos-Play

I have not seen Artimesa Starship Bridge Simulator myself, but I ran over to the Facebook and it sounds sweet.  I will be stuck at my table fending off all the fan-girls and protecting my beard (a guy has dreams, let him have them) so I will live vicariously through you as you go fire some photon torpedoes in my honor.

Wait, you still want more games?  Okay, I was holding this one back because it gets intense.  Have you ever LARPed?  No I did not just make up that word.  It stand for Live Action Role Play.  You are the character and you and a bunch of other people run around the convention throwing bean bags at each other and counting loudly.  It is actually a lot cooler than that makes it sound.  Check out Sovereign Scrolls for all your Fantasy Steampunk Live Action Role Play needs.  You will not regret it.
